This afternoon, "NetEase Cloud Music crashed" suddenly became a hot search topic. Many netizens reported on social media that they could not listen to music normally on NetEase Cloud, the playlist failed to load, and the homepage often displayed "network down." The official website of NetEase Cloud Music also could not be opened. There were rumors that "there was a malfunction in the NetEase Cloud computer room," but it was later denied by NetEase Cloud Music officials.
At about 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, NetEase responded through its official Weibo account that a malfunction had occurred and that it was working to repair the "infrastructure."
At 5:36 am Beijing time, about 2 hours and 30 minutes after the outage, NetEase Cloud Music posted a message on its official Weibo account, saying that the outage had been fixed. A reporter from Chaos News opened NetEase Cloud Music for testing and did not find the previous pop-up window indicating poor network connection.
In addition, NetEase Cloud Music also stated on Weibo that from 0:00 to 24:00 on August 20, users can search for "Listen to Music" on NetEase Cloud Yingyue to receive a 7-day membership, and expressed deep apologies for the incident.
