Switch2 is really getting closer! According to news from the production chain, Lin Chongtao, CEO of Taiwan semiconductor manufacturer Weltrend, said: "Starting from the third quarter, orders for game console applications have rebounded, including the introduction and shipment of new models of PS5, XBOX and SWITCH."

Weltrend is a manufacturer contracted by Nintendo to supply power delivery (PD) controller IC components. This statement can be said to be confirmation that Switch 2 is already in mass production.

Switch 2 mass production does not mean it will be launched soon, because Nintendo has mentioned many times before that it hopes that Switch 2 will be launched smoothly to prevent shortages and scalpers from driving up prices. The only way to solve this problem is to have sufficient stock.

However, it is not clear how much stock Nintendo will prepare for the release of Switch 2. Generally speaking, due to limited warehouse space, factories are generally not willing to stock up too much stock due to cost and safety issues.

Moreover, if mass production starts now and it is delayed too long, it will become increasingly difficult to keep Switch 2 confidential.

If the Switch 2 is released in April next year, it means that Nintendo has been mass-producing and preparing for stock for more than half a year. If it is delayed until the middle of next year, it will take almost a whole year to prepare for stock.

Taking into account issues such as leakage and confidentiality, Nintendo will most likely officially announce the actual machine and performance configuration of Switch 2 by the end of the year. Otherwise, if it is leaked in advance by the insiders, Switch 2 will no longer be fresh.
