On August 18, the Liangping branch of the 2024 China Aviation Science Conference "Children Create Space and Enlighten Liangping" opened in Liangping District, Chongqing. The event included the National Youth Drone Performance Competition, the Aerospace Lecture Hall, the "Explore the Space and Play with Paper Planes" aviation science event, the drone light show, the aerospace consumer market, etc. Young people from all over the country gathered in Liangping, competing fiercely on the field, gaining knowledge in the lecture hall, watching the light and shadow feast by the Shuanggui Lake, and feeling the infinite charm of low-altitude culture in Liangping, the "Low-altitude City in Western China".

On the afternoon of the 18th, the 2024 China Aviation Science Popularization Conference Liangping Branch National Youth Aviation Science Popularization Carnival UAV Show Competition was held in Liangping, Chongqing. The competition was hosted by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics, the Office of the Military-Civilian Integration Development Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Liangping District People's Government of Chongqing, and was supported by many companies and institutions.

The event aims to help Liangping District further promote the low-altitude city in the west and create an aerospace and low-altitude economic activity brand with Liangping recognition and international influence. The event includes logistics handling challenge, air combat competition, drone "Quidditch" football game and Time Thunder Grand Prix.

On the field, outstanding young drone pilots from all over the country competed on the same stage, carrying "supplies", occupying "fortresses", crossing obstacles and other wonderful operations, which made the spectators applaud again and again. It is worth mentioning that Liangshan Junior High School in Liangping District also had two teams participating in the drone "Quidditch" football game. "The school has always paid attention to students' knowledge and interest in science and technology. This is the first time for our students to participate in such a competition at their doorstep. The participating team members cherish this opportunity. Being able to compete with these "masters" on the same stage also broadens the children's horizons." Fu Qi, the leader of Liangshan Junior High School in Liangping District, told reporters.

The aerospace science lecture held simultaneously invited Zhao Chuandong, one of the first astronauts and first-class pilot of the Air Force, and Lan Xueyuan, an aviation science expert of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics, to present a unique aerospace knowledge class for Liangping teenagers. In the handicraft class, Lan Xueyuan led the teenagers to reveal the principles of aviation, and stimulated students' enthusiasm for exploring aviation through activities such as "Exploring the Mystery of Paper Airplanes", standard paper airplane making, paper airplane stunts, aviation model displays, and paper airplane slalom competitions.

On the evening of the event, thousands of drones staged a visual feast in Liangping Shuanggui Lake National Wetland Park. The 3-minute opening light show and the 25-minute drone light and shadow show depicted the past, present and future of China's aerospace development in the night sky. At the same time, by integrating traditional and modern performance techniques, it showcased three business cards: International Wetland City, Western China's Pre-prepared Food Capital, and Mingyue Mountain Green Development Demonstration Belt, further promoting the beauty of the low-altitude city in the west and creating a global influential aerospace and low-altitude economic activity brand. That night, Liangping's night sky was dominated by a dreamy "night sky" full of technology, and citizens praised it one after another, saying: "The lake light and star shadows, the beauty of the 'Liang' city." In recent years, Liangping District has seized the national strategic opportunities, actively responded to the strategic deployment of the central and municipal governments on the development of low-altitude economy, implemented the "1573" high-quality development ideas and measures, and aimed to build a "low-altitude city in the west".
