Shot by Heyuan-born director Li Yiwen, Heyuan's first national cinema film "It's Not Too Late to See You" will be released nationwide on September 13.
The film "It's Not Too Late to Meet You in the Countryside" is 103 minutes long and tells the story of Ma Li, who has been struggling in Guangzhou for many years and is unmarried, returning to her hometown with the son of her boyfriend who betrayed her and lost contact, and reuniting with her father who was full of misunderstandings. The film was shot in Heyuan, including Wanlv Lake, Sujiawei in Yihe Town, Dongyuan County, and Linzhai Ancient Town in Heping County. In addition, a large number of shots show Heyuan elements, such as the unique Hakka cat-headed lion, Lingnan colored paper-cutting and other intangible cultural heritage elements.
The film is based on the prototype of a returnee entrepreneur, with family affection as the main storyline and theme, reflecting the multiple relationships and thoughts of contemporary people on family affection, love, family and hometown, and women's growth, and integrating intangible cultural heritage into the main storyline. Most of the film was shot in the countryside, showing the humanistic care of literary and artistic works for those who work hard outside and the countryside in the new era.
