Ms. Wang and her husband currently work and live in Shanghai. She became a mother through artificial insemination in a Shanghai hospital. "My daughter was born in 2020 and just turned 4 this year."

According to Ms. Wang, a blogger posted a video of picking up a child at a subway station, which happened to be seen by a friend of hers. "The blogger found the little girl at Nanjing East Road Station on Shanghai Metro Line 2. He is a kind-hearted person and helped the child find her parents. At 9:47 pm on August 13, my friend saw this video and forwarded it to me, asking if it looked like our child. I watched it and it really looks like our child. You guys have watched it too, right?
