Drink a cup of coffee with "ancient town latte art", wear Hanfu to walk through the streets of the ancient town, and enjoy Yingge dance performances in front of Lingnan-style buildings... Recently, the reporter visited Huangyao Ancient Town in Hezhou City, Guangxi, to experience how the quiet and ancient thousand-year-old town is equipped with trendy new ways of playing and attract the "Z generation" to "unlock" new travel experiences.

Huangyao Ancient Town is a national 5A-level scenic spot, with more than 300 ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties preserved to this day. Among them, the thousand-year-old Dailong Bridge was once selected for China's special stamps.

Today, Huangyao Ancient Town combines ancient traditions with trendy fashions. The unique Lingnan-style ancient buildings coexist with new business formats such as trendy homestays and cafes, giving this thousand-year-old town new vitality.

"In the past, villagers raised chickens and ducks in front of their houses, and the streets of the ancient town were dirty and messy. Now it has changed a lot." Wei Zhiyou, who has lived in the ancient town for most of his life, said. Wei Zhiyou inherited his father-in-law's Huangjing wine brewing skills and opened a winery in the ancient town with his wife in 2005. Over the years, Huangjing wine has become popular with the development of the ancient town, and even Hong Kong merchants have found Wei Zhiyou to buy in bulk for a long time. Today, Wei Zhiyou has three wineries under his name.
