2023 Audit Analysis Report of Listed Companies and Quoted Companies

In order to facilitate market parties to understand the audit of listed companies and listed companies (hereinafter referred to as "securities audit") and guide accounting firms to practice in a standardized manner, the Accounting Department of the China Securities Regulatory Commission organized forces to analyze the securities audit situation in my country in 2023 and formed this report. The report mainly includes the basic situation of accounting firms engaged in securities services (hereinafter referred to as securities firms), the audit of listed companies and listed companies, the analysis of audit reports and related practice issues.
I. Basic Information of Securities Exchanges
1. The number of securities exchanges has declined
As of the end of June 2024, 112 accounting firms were registered to engage in securities services, 3 fewer than last year, a decrease of 2.6%, mainly due to failure to complete annual registration and agency deregistration. There were 5,881 partners in securities firms, an increase of 3.1% over the previous year; there were 34,726 certified public accountants, a decrease of 2.2% over the previous year.
(II) Securities business of small and medium-sized exchanges has grown
In 2023, the securities business revenue of securities firms reached 22.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%, accounting for 32% of the total revenue (69.50 billion yuan). According to the number of listed companies audited and the total revenue, the securities business revenue of securities firms was 18.36 billion yuan, 3.56 billion yuan and 580 million yuan respectively, a year-on-year increase of -0.4%, 10.5% and 44.1%, and the securities business revenue of small and medium-sized firms increased.
