In June 2023, the Letters and Visits Office of the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision received a letter of complaint from the public, reporting that during the period when Li Peixia was the Party Secretary of Shangfang Township, Wannian County, there were problems such as false listing of funds, illegal falsification of accounts, and illegal interference in projects. In accordance with the relevant regulations on the handling of letters and visits and reports, the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision transferred the letter of complaint to the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision for handling.In July 2023, the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision conducted a preliminary investigation into the above-mentioned issues reported by Li Peixia.In April 2024, during the process of carrying out a concentrated rectification of unhealthy practices and corruption among the people, the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision sorted out letters and visits from the province and found that the problems reflected in the letters and visits involving Li Peixia were particularly prominent. It regarded it as a provincial supervision case and required the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision to strengthen follow-up supervision.Under the supervision of the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision further carried out verification work.

According to the verification, on May 26, the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, after approval by the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision and the Wannian County Party Committee, took detention measures against Li Peixia, and delivered the detention notice to Li Peixia's family within 24 hours. On June 17, the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced to the public that Li Peixia was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision. After filing a case against Li Peixia, the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision sent cadres to participate in the investigation and handling of the case throughout the process. On August 16, Li Peixia's case was closed. After investigation, Li Peixia violated the party's political discipline, the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, mass discipline and life discipline, used her position to seek benefits for others in the contracting of engineering projects and the payment of engineering funds, and illegally accepted property, constituting a serious duty violation and suspected of bribery. After approval according to procedures, Li Peixia was expelled from the party and dismissed from public office, and her suspected criminal issues were transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
