According to the news released by Shangrao on the 18th, in June 2023, the petition office of the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision received a petition from the masses reporting Li Peixia in real name, reflecting that during Li Peixia's tenure as Party Secretary of Shangfang Township, Wannian County, there were problems such as false listing of funds, illegal falsification of accounts, and illegal intervention in projects. The Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision transferred the petition to the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision for processing in accordance with the relevant provisions on the handling of petition reports. In July 2023, the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision conducted a preliminary investigation on the above-mentioned problems reflected by Li Peixia. In April 2024, in the process of carrying out a concentrated rectification of unhealthy practices and corruption problems among the masses, the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision sorted out the petitions from the province and found that the problems reflected by Li Peixia in the petitions were relatively prominent. It was regarded as a provincial-level supervision case, and the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision was required to strengthen follow-up supervision. Under the supervision of the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision further carried out verification work.

According to the verification:

On May 26, the Wannian County Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission took detention measures against Li Peixia after obtaining approval from the Shangrao Municipal Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission and the Wannian County Party Committee, and delivered the detention notice to Li Peixia's family within 24 hours.

On June 17, the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced to the public that Li Peixia was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Wannian County Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision. After Li Peixia was detained, the Shangrao Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision sent cadres to participate in the investigation and handling of the case throughout the process.

On August 16, Li Peixia's case was closed. After investigation, it was found that Li Peixia violated the party's political discipline, the spirit of the Central Committee's eight regulations, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, mass discipline and life discipline, used her position to seek benefits for others in project contracting and project payment, and illegally accepted property, constituting a serious violation of duty and suspected of bribery. After approval according to procedures,Li Peixia was expelled from the Party and removed from public office, and her suspected criminal case was transferred to the procuratorate for examination and prosecution in accordance with the law.
