On August 15, the formation meeting of the anti-corruption historical drama "The Wind on the Grand Canal" was held at the Tongzhou District Cultural Center. The drama was sponsored by the Beijing Tongzhou District Discipline Inspection Commission, Beijing Tongzhou District Supervision Committee, Beijing Tongzhou District Propaganda Department of the Beijing Tongzhou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Beijing Tongzhou District Culture and Tourism Bureau, directed by the Beijing People's Art Theater, and created by the Tongzhou District Cultural Center. The play will be officially premiered on September 30, vigorously promoting clean and upright spirit and carrying out "immersive" anti-corruption cultural education.

The play is based on Yu Chenglong, a famous honest official in Tongzhou's history, and is based on his historical story of clean government.

In the early Qing Dynasty, Tongzhou was hit by an earthquake and food prices soared. Yu Chenglong was appointed as the magistrate of Tongzhou. He stabilized food prices, established free schools, repaired houses, and built new bridges amid the chaos, and was supported by the people of Tongzhou.

Yan Rui, director of the Beijing People's Art Theater, introduced that the play adheres to the realistic creative style as the basis, making the performance real, rigorous and profound. It not only has the inherent spiritual power of the drama, but also has contemporary social value. It establishes the distinctive character image of Jackie Chan who is honest and serves the people, and strives to create a stage work with ideas, quality and warmth.

It is reported that the main creative team will conduct 22 days of closed rehearsals from now on to prepare for the premiere on September 30.

Liu Yan, head of the Propaganda Department of the Tongzhou District Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Commission, said that strengthening the construction of clean culture in the new era plays an important role in nurturing a clean political ecology. The original drama performance of "The Wind on the Grand Canal", as one of the "Six Ones" activities for the construction of clean culture in Tongzhou District in 2024, is a vivid practice of Tongzhou District to integrate the study and education of party discipline into daily life and grasp it regularly.

By fully tapping into the genes of integrity in historical culture and canal culture, educating people with culture and using integrity as a mirror, we will actively exert the attraction, radiation and appeal of integrity culture.
