The towering transformer made in Nanchang

The "Nanchang-made" transformers have won the favor of domestic and foreign markets with their high efficiency and high quality. From January to July 2024, Jiangbian Technology's output value was 640 million yuan, of which the export output value reached 300 million yuan.

Working overtime to rush orders

Orders are "thick" and production is "hot". In the Jiangbian Technology factory, all production lines are running at full capacity, and workers are stepping up to assemble and test transformers of various specifications. Transformers of different sizes stand tall, the big ones are like two large containers, and the small ones are larger than the body of a van.

"This batch of 10 transformers shipped to Italy is one of 50 orders, with a total output value of 100 million yuan." He Pan, manager of the manufacturing department of Jiangbian Technology, told reporters that some of these transformers will be shipped to Libya by Italian customers for use in the construction of local substations.

"This big guy is custom-made for the Bratsk Aluminum Plant in the Russian Federation. Each unit weighs 440 tons. The first phase order is 160 million yuan, which is our largest single order exported to Europe." In the factory, He Pan pointed to a large transformer and told reporters that working overtime to rush orders has become the norm for workshop workers in recent months. "In July 2024, our output value will reach 130 million yuan, equivalent to a quarter of the annual output value in 2023." He Pan said.

Transformers are very important electrical equipment in power systems and are widely used. In today's highly competitive market, product quality is the cornerstone of a company's success. "We conduct strict quality control throughout the product life cycle, from contract signing, production, transportation, installation, maintenance," said He Pan.

Data shows that Jiangbian Technology will achieve an output value of nearly 520 million yuan in 2023, of which the export value is 79.06 million yuan. From January to July 2024, the output value is 640 million yuan, of which the export value reaches 300 million yuan.

Realize high-end and intelligent industry

Going global requires core competitiveness. Recently, a 110,000-watt oil-immersed power transformer has been assembled in the Jiangbian Technology plant and will soon be shipped to the United States for power grid upgrades. What kind of equipment is worth an American merchant ordering from afar?

"Jiangbian Technology focuses on the research and development and production of new energy transformers and is one of the main domestic manufacturers of new energy transformers." He Pan told reporters that this 110MVA main transformer for photovoltaic power generation customized by an American energy company has high surface treatment requirements, complex structure, and high requirements for electrical and hot spots and short-circuit performance. Its performance meets various US standards, and the first prototype passed all relevant tests including temperature rise and partial discharge tests at one time.

After years of market development, Jiangbian Technology's transformer products are well-known overseas. The reporter learned that Jiangbian Technology is a technology company that integrates the research and development, manufacturing and maintenance of large transformers. The company's predecessor was the famous Jiangxi Transformer Factory, which began manufacturing transformers in 1954 and has been committed to providing reliable product guarantees for power generation, power transmission and transformation, non-ferrous metal smelting, clean energy and other industries for 70 years.

In recent years, Jiangbian Technology has accelerated the formation of new quality productivity through scientific and technological innovation, digested and absorbed advanced technologies of domestic and foreign products, integrated its own new processes and technologies, and continuously launched more high-efficiency and energy-saving transformer products, promoting the high-end and intelligent development of the industry, and exported its products overseas. For example, for a component called the self-saturated reactor in the rectifier transformer, the company's chief technical expert Huang Qiang led the technical staff to continuously explore and replaced steel with high-density laminated wood, which not only reduced the loss of structural parts but also improved the efficiency of the transformer.
