Beijing News (Reporter Zhou Huixiaowan) On August 16, the Thai film "Grandma's Grandson" released a "In the Name of Love" family special and announced the official start of pre-sale. In the special, the director and the main actors sat around and chatted, deeply analyzing the motivations behind the choices made by each family member in the story. They all laughed and said that in every family there will be people who are exactly the same as the characters they play.
The film is directed by Pat Bonitipat and stars Ma Qunyao, Usa Samekham, Sanya Kunakorn, Sharinla Thomas, Bangsatun Zongwirak, Dangpong Oapilak, Seemawari Taliji and Tongdayan Pentiwicigong. It will be released nationwide on August 23.
In the "In the Name of Love" family special, the main family members officially debuted, and the personality labels of each family member gradually became clear. The pillar of the family, the uncle who has the elderly and the young, the mother who spends the most time with grandma, the uncle who always makes trouble, and the cousin who is ruthless and pleases the elderly. In the story told by "Grandma's Grandson", the unemployed grandson A'an, played by Ma Qunyao, gradually became estranged from his grandmother after growing up, but after learning that his cousin had obtained an inheritance for taking care of his grandfather, he had the idea of "lying down and eating grandma". However, in the process of taking care of the sick grandma and getting along with her at close range, the mentality of A'an, a "full-time good grandson", gradually changed. And through this period of living with grandma, A'an felt the warmth and coldness of family affection for the first time. Although the blood relationship brought the family together, there were also many selfishness and harm behind the "in the name of love" relationship. The relatives are trying to maintain the balance in the kinship relationship in a "love-hate" way.
Ma Qunyao mentioned in the special that the biggest difficulty in shaping the role of A'an is that he and the character have different values. He was very distressed to show his scheming and greedy side to his grandmother, but in order to be more in line with A'an's decadent personality, Ma Qunyao lost more than ten kilograms before filming. The whole process of the transformation of the character of A'an from "hollow" to "hearted" also gave the audience a stronger sense of substitution. The 76-year-old actor Usa Samekham, who plays the grandmother, joined the crew by chance after participating in the audition and had no acting experience before. Although it was her first time to "touch electricity", she was also amazing, without any trace of acting. The audience commented that "I just felt that she was my grandmother" and "she and Ma Qunyao staged the most down-to-earth grandmother-grandson relationship."
