On the morning of August 16, the Niushan Sun Clan Cultural Research Association held a grand ceremony in Daozhuang Village, Malantun Town, Taierzhuang District, Zaozhuang City, to welcome Sun Mengya, the defending champion of the 2024 Paris Olympic Women's Double Canoe 500m, an athlete from Zaozhuang, Shandong, and a member of the Niushan Sun Clan, back to her hometown. Sun Mengya's parents and relatives, the research association's chief consultant Sun Jingrui, president Sun Zhongke, executive vice president Sun Qisheng, other vice presidents and members, Niushan Sun Clan members, and nearly a thousand people from the surrounding areas of Malantun Town attended the welcoming ceremony. Taierzhuang District Mayor Liu Xiaolu, Malantun Town Mayor Liu Juan and other leaders came specially to congratulate.

At 11:40, Sun Mengya arrived at Daozhuang Village, her hometown, by car. As soon as she got off the car, she smiled and waved to everyone. She hugged, shook hands, exchanged ideas or took photos with relatives, Niushan Sun clan members and people from her hometown who came to greet and congratulate her. Her words and deeds all revealed her confident, calm, sunny, straightforward, hardworking and courageous look and temperament. People at the scene also raised their cameras or mobile phones to take photos or videos, competing to record this lively and festive scene and each beautiful moment!
Sun Mengya could hardly suppress her joy and said: I am very happy and excited to be back home. I thank the motherland for its cultivation, my parents for bringing me up, my hometown for its love and my people for its care. I will take this consecutive Olympic championship as a new starting point, continue to fight hard, strive to win glory for my country again at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, win another Olympic gold medal, and achieve three consecutive Olympic championships!
