Apple reminds developers: European App Store will need to provide trader information starting next February

IT Home reported on August 17 that Apple reminded App Store developers and book distributors yesterday (August 16),You must visit the Business page and submit your trader identity information before February 17, 2025, otherwise your app will be removed from the European App Store.


Apple stated in an official announcement that starting from October 16, 2024, developers must provide their trader status to submit new apps or app updates for release in the EU.

IT Home cited the definition of the European Digital Services Act (DSA) that a trader is "any natural or legal person, regardless of its public or private nature, who acts for purposes related to its own trade, business, crafts or profession, including any person acting in its name or on its behalf."

According to technology media AppleInsider, Apple has sent emails to booksellers through iTunes Connect, asking them to provide the same information.
