Our intern Hu Fengyu and China Jiangxi News Network all-media reporter Huang Jianheng reported: On August 15, the 2024 Nanchang Marathon event was held, marking the official entry of the preparation stage for the national A1 marathon event certified by the China Athletics Association - Nanchang Marathon, and extending a warm invitation to runners around the world. It is reported that the registration for this event has been fully launched at 14:00 on August 15, and will start at 7:30 on November 10 (Sunday) at Nanchang Bayi Square.
The reporter learned that this year's Nanchang Marathon will usher in five major changes. First, the scale of participation will achieve a historic breakthrough, and the total number of participants is expected to reach 35,000, the highest in history. Among them, the number of participants in the full marathon, half marathon and fun run (family run) has increased significantly compared with 2023, increasing by 2,000, 2,000 and 1,000 respectively.
Secondly, the track design is more scientific and reasonable. The organizing committee has optimized and adjusted the route of the second half of the event, striving to make the track straight and smooth, creating a domestic leading marathon track experience for runners at home and abroad, and helping runners create personal bests.
The starting point of the event is located at Nanchang Bayi Square, the full marathon end point is located at Honggutan Sunac Mall, the half marathon end point is Honggutan MixC, and the fun run (family run) end point is located at Honggutan Causeway Bay Plaza. Along the way, it will pass by many iconic buildings in Nanchang.
In addition, the prize money is more generous, with a total prize of 747,300 yuan, an increase of 65,000 yuan from the previous session, to encourage more outstanding runners to participate. At the same time, the event also introduced a lottery-free direct pass policy, with special discounts for veteran runners, domestic and foreign elite runners, and charity runners.
