IT Home reported on August 17 that technology media The Verge published a blog post today (August 17), revealing that there are mandatory clauses in the Google Pixel 9 review agreement. When it is required to review and introduce the Pixel 9 series mobile phones, it must not display or introduce competitors' products at the same time, otherwise the cooperation relationship will be terminated.

Team Pixel

IT Home Note: Google's Team Pixel adopts an invitation-only approach to recommend Pixel products to well-known digital anchors, influential public figures, and creators before the products are officially released.

In the project promotion of the Pixel 9 series of mobile phones, a new controversial clause was added:

Participants in the program should use a Google Pixel device, not any competitor mobile device. If a situation arises where another brand is preferred over Pixel, we will need to terminate the relationship between that brand and the creator.
Google responds

Kayla Geier, a communications manager at Google, told The Verge:

#TeamPixel is a separate program from our Press and Creator Review Program. The goal of #TeamPixel is to get Pixel devices into the hands of content creators, not press and tech reviewers. This new wording that appeared in our #TeamPixel form yesterday was misleading and has now been removed.
