Hangzhou, August 16 (China News Service) (Bao Mengni and Huang Lin) According to the Zhejiang Power Exchange Center on August 16, with the State Grid Zhejiang Electric Vehicle Company reaching a green electricity transaction of 98 million kilowatt-hours, more than 200,000 new energy vehicles in Zhejiang began to charge with green electricity in the first half of this year.

It is reported that this year, Zhejiang Power Exchange and State Grid Zhejiang Electric Vehicle Service Company jointly formulated the "Zhejiang Province Electric Vehicle Consumption Green Electricity Pilot Work Plan", and piloted the construction of 1,282 "green charging piles" in Hangzhou and Huzhou. At present, these "green charging piles" have covered new energy vehicle fast charging stations, bus-specific charging stations, commercial building public charging stations, airport charging stations and other business scenarios, with a total of 8.245 million kWh of green electricity put into use.
This year, Zhejiang Power Trading Center has established an innovative trading mechanism to promote green electricity consumption by electric vehicles within the framework of the existing green electricity trading market system, organized electric vehicle charging facilities to participate in green electricity trading, and enabled new energy vehicles to use green electricity. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Vehicle Company and other power sales companies act as agents for many charging pile operators, actively participate in green electricity trading within and outside the province through the "e-trading" APP, and reach transactions with various new energy power generation companies.
At present, China has become one of the world's largest new energy vehicle markets. In the first half of the year, China's cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 3.747 million units, with a market share of 28.3%. The sales penetration rate of new energy vehicles in Zhejiang exceeded 50%. Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Energy Administration, and the National Bureau of Statistics issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of a New Power System (2024-2027)", which clearly pointed out the need to "strengthen the integration and interaction between electric vehicles and power grids." New energy vehicles are like movable energy storage devices with outstanding adjustable and interactive characteristics. With the continuous increase in ownership and market share, new energy vehicles will also become a new force in the power market.
The green electricity charging of new energy vehicles is achieved through the aggregation mode, which gathers small, scattered and scattered charging resources, allowing electric vehicle charging facilities to participate in the consumption of green electricity. At the same time, the flexible adjustment ability of new energy vehicles is fully tapped, and the owners are guided to transfer hourly charging loads through price signals, participate in peak-cutting auxiliary service transactions, improve the matching degree between the "charging curve" of new energy vehicles and the "generation curve" of new energy, and enhance the power grid's consumption capacity and operation efficiency for new energy.
It is reported that Zhejiang currently has more than 2.5 million electric vehicles, with an annual charging capacity of more than 6 billion kilowatt-hours. If all of them use green electricity, it is estimated that 6.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced throughout the year. (End)
