IT Home reported on August 16 that the technology media Android Authority published a blog post yesterday (August 15),It is confirmed that Google's Pixel 9 series phones use Samsung's Exynos Modem 5400 modem.

The media used the Device Info HW app and found that all four models of Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are equipped with the new Exynos 5400 modem.

The baseband part is shown as the "g5400c" part number, which corresponds to the Exynos Modem 5400, while the part number of the Google Pixel 7 Pro is "g5300q", which corresponds to the earlier Exynos Modem 5300.

Compared to the Exynos Modem 5300 used in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series, the Exynos Modem 5400 used in the Pixel 9 series is faster and more efficient, and also supports satellite connections.

IT Home quoted the introduction on Samsung Semiconductor's official website, Exynos Modem 5400 is based on 3GPP Release 17 and provides speeds of up to 14.79 Gbps (5300 is 10 Gbps).
