According to the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision on August 16:Xie Laifa, Party Secretary and Director of Jiangxi Provincial Market Supervision Administration, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and took the initiative to report the problem to the organization, is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.

According to his public resume, Xie Laifa is a male of the Han nationality, born in December 1967, has a postgraduate degree, and is a member of the Communist Party of China.

In 2002, Xie Laifa was appointed as the deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Highway Administration and served for four years. In 2006, he was appointed as the director of the Jiangxi Provincial Highway Administration and in 2009 he also served as the general manager of Jiangxi Expressway Investment Group Co., Ltd.

In 2013, Xie Laifa was transferred to Yichun as member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor. In 2015, he was appointed as deputy secretary of the Yichun Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor. In 2016, he resigned from the post of deputy mayor of Yichun and continued to serve as deputy secretary of the Yichun Municipal Party Committee.

In 2018, Xie Laifa was transferred to become mayor of Shangrao City, where he served for nearly two years. At the end of 2019, he was transferred to become deputy secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Party Committee and mayor candidate, and later served as acting mayor. In May 2020, he became mayor of Jiujiang City.

In March 2021, Xie Laifa was appointed Secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Party Committee.

In May 2022, he was appointed as Party Secretary and Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Administration for Market Regulation.
