The competition covers five fields: Party building leadership, economic development, serving the masses, emergency rescue, and civilized style. Each track has first, second, and third prizes and outstanding projects. Since the launch of the competition, the province has received a total of 216 entries with high quality, wide coverage, strong professionalism, good innovation, and high quality of core team members. With the participation and guidance of experts and consultants from various fields, the competition finally selected 32 award-winning projects and 18 outstanding projects, including "Yue Inheritance, Guangdong Leads" - Red Culture Inheritance Volunteer Pioneer Action.
Wang Chuang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs, said that the competition was a complete success and the event was held with enthusiasm, height, breadth and warmth. He hoped that the winning projects would continue to work hard to achieve greater success, and that the majority of veterans should always maintain their true colors and devote themselves to volunteer service. He hoped that all departments would strengthen coordination and gather the power of progress, lead and drive more veterans to join the volunteer service ranks, and strive to promote the high-quality development of Guangdong's veterans work, "set benchmarks and take the lead", constantly polish the background of "Rong Yao Nan Yue", and provide strong support for promoting veterans' volunteer service.
It is reported that veterans affairs departments at all levels in Guangdong Province have actively promoted the construction of a volunteer service system, vigorously implemented the veterans volunteer service project, issued guidelines for volunteer service work, and established 13,327 veterans volunteer service teams with approximately 409,000 volunteers. A number of veterans volunteer service brands with regional characteristics have emerged, including Guangzhou's "Red Cotton Veterans", Shenzhen's "Red Star", Foshan's "Southern Lion", Jiangmen's "Spark", and Huizhou's "Battle Flag". Guangdong's veterans volunteer service has become a shining business card for the country.
The reporter learned that in recent years, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs has focused on building the "Red Cotton Veterans" volunteer service brand, and promoted veterans across the city to carry out volunteer services in seven major areas, including inheriting the red gene, assisting civilized practice, promoting peace creation, serving economic development, coordinating emergency rescue, carrying out joint support and construction, and caring for veterans in need. It has incubated a number of Red Cotton Veterans volunteer service projects with "military" characteristics, a wide range of services, deep penetration into the grassroots, and recognition by the masses, and achieved good social results.
Data shows thatThe city's Red Cotton Veteran Volunteer Service Team has carried out more than 45,000 volunteer service activities, with more than 280,000 participants and served more than 6.2 million people, basically forming a volunteer service development pattern of "one district with one feature, one village (community) with one brand".Guangzhou Hongmian Veterans has become the veterans’ volunteer service brand with the largest number of teams and the largest number of party members in the province.
