Less than four months after replacing its chairman, Kweichow Moutai (600519.SH) has undergone another important personnel change.
On the evening of August 14, Kweichow Moutai issued an announcement stating that according to relevant documents of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People's Government of Guizhou Province, Xiang Ping and Zhang Xu were recommended as deputy general managers of Kweichow Moutai, and it was suggested that Tu Huabin and Wang Xiaowei no longer serve as deputy general managers of the company.
Xiang Ping and Zhang Xu, who were promoted this time, are both "old men" of Moutai. They are cadres who grew up from the grassroots level of Moutai and have been trained in many important positions. They are particularly familiar with the market operations of Kweichow Moutai. They have served as the heads of Kweichow Moutai's two major sales platforms, Kweichow Moutai Liquor Sales Co., Ltd. and Kweichow Moutai Sauce-flavor Liquor Marketing Co., Ltd.
Born in 1972, Xiang Ping started his career in the winemaking workshop. From April 2000 to December 2015, he served as deputy director of the fourth winemaking workshop of Kweichow Moutai, deputy director and director of the sixth winemaking workshop, director of Factory 301 and deputy secretary of the Party branch, and director of the wine warehouse workshop.
During Li Baofang's tenure, Moutai carried out drastic reforms on marketing channels and promoted the transformation and upgrading of Moutai's marketing system. On May 5, 2019, Kweichow Moutai Group Marketing Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Moutai Group, was officially established, with Xiang Ping as chairman. The company is mainly responsible for connecting with end customers such as group purchases and supermarkets, and has gradually started the investment promotion work for supermarkets, stores, and e-commerce.
