Wang Xianming, former Party Secretary of Ningbo Xingshi Middle School, was appointed as a special consultant of the Advisory Committee of the Haishu District People's Government and consultant of the Haishu District Energy Storage School. Zhang Yuyin, Party Committee Member and Director of the Student Affairs Office of Ningbo Xingshi Middle School, was appointed as the principal of the Xinzhi Campus of the Energy Storage School. Ye Songhua, Director of the Hainan Airlines Department of Ningbo Xingshi Middle School, was appointed as the principal of the Liyuan Campus of the Energy Storage School. Ye Songhua will serve as the principal of the Liyuan Campus of the Haishu District Energy Storage School from 2023.

In March 2019, with the support of Ningbo Education Bureau and Haishu District Committee and Government, Ningbo Xiaoshi Middle School and Haishu District Education Bureau jointly established Haishu District Energy Storage School, which will deliver and extend the advanced educational concepts accumulated by Xiaoshi over the past century to junior high schools, and drive and lead the practice and exploration of the integration of junior and senior high school education.
In 2023, the Ningbo Municipal Education Bureau will coordinate and promote the Ministry of Education's basic education comprehensive reform experimental zone work at a high level, and Haishu District will become the only district in the city to promote it in the entire region. Under the comprehensive guidance and strong support of the Ningbo Municipal Education Bureau, the district has implemented ten major tough actions and 95 key tasks in depth with excellent standards, and promoted the comprehensive reform of basic education with high quality. In April of the same year, as one of the important measures for the expansion of high-quality resources, the Haishu District Education Bureau entrusted Xingshi Middle School to coordinate the management of the Xinzhi Campus and Liyuan Campus of the Energy Storage School. In just five years, the number of students has also increased from nearly 100 at the beginning to more than 4,500 now.
