Nan'an, Fujian, August 14 (Reporter Sun Hong) As a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China, Nan'an, Fujian, held the first low-altitude flight scene in the city, Shijing area, and the groundbreaking ceremony of the urban air traffic operation center project on the 14th. The manned autonomous flying vehicle "Chenggong" officially made its first flight here. Nan'an has thus become the first county-level city in Fujian Province to enter the "low-altitude economy" track of autonomous flying vehicles.

“Looking at Nan’an from the air, you can better feel the successful charm of the integration of industry, city and culture.” As the first person to experience the “Chenggong”, Chen Qian, member of the Standing Committee of the Nan’an Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, said that in the future Nan’an will adopt the mode of “connecting points with lines and connecting pieces with lines”. On the basis of three aviation flight camps, three more flight camps will be added each year, the airspace take-off and landing bases will be systematically arranged, and multiple cross-regional air routes will be planned point-to-point. With the continuous improvement of the air traffic control system, a multi-level aviation flight system will be gradually constructed to form a three-dimensional flight transportation and logistics hub.
It is understood that the manned autonomous flying vehicle that made its maiden flight that day came from Ehang Intelligent, a leading low-altitude economy company. It is the world's first and only manned eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle) that has obtained the three "passes" of type certificate, production license and standard airworthiness certificate. To date, it has completed more than 50,000 safe flights around the world, with flight footprints in 16 countries in Asia, Europe and North America.

"Nan'an has good conditions for developing the low-altitude economy." He Tianxing, vice president of Ehang Intelligent Equipment (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., introduced that the low-altitude economy has been included in the emerging industries and future industries that Nan'an is focusing on, and will become an important part of the local development of new quality productivity and the construction of a new development pattern. "We will work with Nan'an's partners to efficiently promote the open application of air traffic scenarios, the construction of industrial ecology, and the innovation of business models, and do a solid job in the development of the low-altitude economy, and promote the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy in Fujian Province."
As the first prefabricated smart aviation flight camp project in Fujian Province, the Urban Air Traffic Operation Center project, which started construction on the same day, adopts prefabricated modular construction. After completion, it will serve as a base for the take-off, landing, parking, inspection, and maintenance of manned autonomous aircraft and various application-oriented drones such as logistics, firefighting, emergency, and cultural tourism. At the same time, the operation center will integrate the intelligent control function of regional low-altitude airspace, and carry out planning and scheduling, monitoring, equipment and operator registration, and other management and services for all aircraft within the surrounding corresponding airspace and below 120 meters above sea level.

"We will accelerate the construction of a low-altitude economic cluster for the entire industrial chain, and make Shijing a real hub center that can soar into the sky above and reach rivers and seas below." said Wang Shenglan, mayor of Shijing Town.
In addition, Nan'an Low-altitude Economic Industry Development Service Co., Ltd. was unveiled here, and a number of low-altitude economic related projects were signed.
It is understood that at the end of May this year, Nan'an held the Nan'an branch of the 2024 8th World Drone Conference and the first Nan'an Low-altitude Economy and Drone Industry Development Conference, taking the lead in launching the development of Quanzhou's low-altitude economy industry. On September 27, Nan'an will also host the China International Aircraft Design Challenge, continuing to blow the horn for the take-off of the low-altitude economy. (End)
