On August 13, at the Xie Yuda Tea Expo Park in Huizhou District, Huangshan City, a teacher from Anhui University was introducing horsetail grass on the ground to the students.
August 15 this year is the second National Ecological Day, with the theme of "Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development". In order to promote the formation of a good social atmosphere that advocates ecological civilization, on August 13, the Huangshan Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau and the Huizhou District Ecological Environment Branch went to Xieyu Tea Expo Park to carry out the National Ecological Day environmental protection publicity and education activities, and invited teachers from Anhui University to participate in the guidance.
During the activity, teachers and environmental protection staff from Anhui University combined the environmental advantages of Xie Yuda Ecological Tea Garden and gave outdoor lectures on biodiversity to students from Jinan City, Shandong Province who were participating in the study tour. They led the students to explore and learn about biodiversity in the ecological tea garden, distinguished different tree species by observing the thickness of plant trunks, the depth of leaf color, and whether they were flowering and bearing fruit. They explained the evolutionary process of insects through the differences in their legs, horns, and wings, and gradually stimulated students' interest in the study of plants and animals from the shallower to the deeper. They also organized students to recognize the differences in plants by observing the details of their appearance and looking for common weeds such as leaf beads and crabgrass.
The students were very enthusiastic about the activities and said that they benefited a lot from outdoor observation and learning. They felt the joy of being close to nature and understanding nature. They will respect and protect nature and live in harmony with all kinds of creatures in their future lives.
It is understood that Xieyu Tea Expo Park is an ecological environment education base in Huangshan City. In recent years, it has attracted a large number of study tours and parent-child tours with its Hui tea culture, tea resources, and tea garden environment. It is currently actively building a provincial biodiversity experience site.
