Yangzi Evening News reported on August 14 (reporter Guo Yipeng, correspondent Ning Jiaoxuan) Many new car owners have some misunderstandings about the "6-year exemption from inspection" for new cars, equating "exemption from inspection" with "no inspection". So, do new cars need to be inspected in the first six years? The Nanjing Vehicle Management Department has explained this in detail many times.
According to the latest annual inspection policy of the Ministry of Public Security, non-commercial passenger cars and motorcycles only need to go online for inspection in the sixth and tenth years within 10 years, and apply for an inspection mark every two years; for those over 10 years old, they need to go online for inspection once a year. In other words, six years of exemption from inspection does not mean no inspection. During the exemption period, vehicles still need to replace the inspection certificate according to the inspection cycle and go online for inspection in the sixth year.
But it should be noted that not all vehicles within six years can enjoy the exemption policy. Which vehicles are exempt from inspection for six years? According to the vehicle management personnel, non-commercial small and micro passenger cars (9 seats or less, excluding vans) and motorcycles. However, the following four types of vehicles do not enjoy the six-year exemption from inspection: vans; vehicles that have been illegally modified and punished according to law; vehicles that have caused traffic accidents that caused casualties; vehicles that have not been registered for more than 4 years since they left the factory. Within 6 years, they will still be inspected online every two years according to the original regulations.
Vehicle management personnel remind that vehicles exempted from inspection can apply for inspection certificates online. Through the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile app, you can apply for inspection certificates for your exempted vehicles that have been registered. After applying for the electronic inspection certificate, there is no need to paste the paper version. The electronic version has the same legal effect as the paper version.
In addition, motor vehicle inspection can be applied for within 3 months before the expiration of the inspection validity period. Before applying for the business, please complete the handling of road traffic safety violations and traffic accidents involving motor vehicles. In addition, please remember that vehicles cannot be driven on the road if they have not been inspected within the due date.
