According to Fast Technology on August 14, today, Xiaomi pushed a new version of Surge OS. A Xiaomi 14 user said that the upgrade was incredibly smooth.

It is reported that the focus of the new version of Surge OS upgrade is to optimize the application startup delay. Zhang Guoquan from Xiaomi Software Department introduced that the goal of Surge OS is to achieve the moment the user's finger touches the screen, the application can respond immediately, with almost zero waiting time.

In order to achieve such a smooth experience, the engineering team gradually disassembled each link in the application startup chain, reviewed and approved more than 20 technical solutions internally, and finally achieved an improvement in application startup performance.

It is understood that the first batch of models covered by this upgrade include Xiaomi 14 series, Redmi K70 series and Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, and will also cover Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 and Redmi Turbo 3 in August.

According to the information, Xiaomi Pengpai OS was first released on October 26, 2023, and the first model was the Xiaomi 14 series.

Compared with the previous MIUI, Xiaomi Pengpai OS has undergone underlying reconstruction, optimized hardware resource scheduling solutions, supported distributed collaborative computing, optimized memory management and file systems, streamlined the firmware system, improved the performance of lightweight devices, and has "heterogeneous compatibility". It supports multiple categories of devices and supports cross-terminal interconnection, integrated device center and other functions.

It also has a built-in self-developed large model, equipped with a HyperMind intelligent thinking center, supports active intelligence, and has a built-in TEE underlying security system to ensure system security.
