There are currently 146 securities companies in the securities industry, of which 39 subsidiaries have been merged into the parent company for evaluation, so there are a total of 107 participating entities this time, 1 more than in 2023. In recent years, the number of securities companies of various categories has remained stable overall, with the proportions of A, B, and C companies controlled at 50%, 40%, and 10%, respectively, and the number of AA-level companies remained at around 14.

On August 13, according to a report in China Securities Journal, the China Securities Association has recently issued a notice in the industry, requiring all sponsors to submit specific sponsor withdrawal and rejection projects and basic information since the implementation of the registration system in various sectors of the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing Stock Exchanges, and carefully verify the accuracy of the project information submitted in the investment banking business quality evaluation system.

In line with the trend of increasingly stringent regulation of investment banking business, there have been reports recently that the persons in charge of investment banking business of securities firms are under investigation, including Haitong Securities (600837.SH) and Guoyuan Securities (000728.SZ); some securities firms have also announced the resignation of senior executives but did not specify their destinations, such as China Merchants Securities (600999.SH).
