CCTV News On the morning of August 13, the Information Office of the Yantai Municipal Government of Shandong Province held the first press conference in the series of "Promoting High-quality Development", and the Yantai Municipal Development and Reform Commission released the economic and social development situation since the beginning of this year.
Sun Jipeng, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Yantai Development and Reform Commission, introduced that this year is the starting year for Yantai's economic aggregate to continue its struggle and embark on a new journey after breaking through the trillion yuan mark, and the responsibility for doing a good job in economic and social development is particularly heavy. Yantai City is anchored on the goal of building a green, low-carbon, high-quality development demonstration city, and resolutely shoulders the mission of "a major economic city taking the lead", forging ahead and overcoming difficulties, and the overall economic and social development is stable.
In the first half of the year, Yantai City achieved a regional GDP of 498.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%, industrial added value of enterprises above designated size increased by 8.6%, fixed asset investment increased by 4.4%, total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 4.8%, foreign trade imports and exports reached 217.48 billion yuan, and general public budget revenue reached 43.9 billion yuan. The main indicators operated steadily, showing the significant characteristics of high quality, strong resilience and strong stamina.
"Building a green, low-carbon, high-quality development demonstration city" is the new positioning given to Yantai by the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. At present, Yantai City has superimposed pilot opportunities such as the national carbon peak city and low-carbon city. The new energy system of "nuclear wind, solar, hydrogen and LNG" based on the "four major nuclear power", "seven offshore wind power" and "three major LNG" has been further improved. The city's clean energy installed capacity has reached 13.95 million kilowatts, ranking first in Shandong Province. The support of the clean energy industry is stronger. This year, a number of new industrial projects such as the new generation of battery materials low-carbon industrial park and the Shanghai boiler high-end equipment manufacturing base have been newly landed. The State Power Investment Nuclear Energy Headquarters Operation Center will be completed within the year. In addition, the first city-level virtual power plant in the country and the first independent regional energy storage center on the grid side in the province will help Yantai City accelerate its green and low-carbon transformation. The demonstration and leading results are more prominent. Yantai City has orderly shut down low-end casting projects, and the energy consumption intensity has dropped by 20.9% in three years, becoming the only prefecture-level city in the province to complete the task target for 18 consecutive years. Yantai City has issued a two-year action plan to implement the spirit of the Green, Low-Carbon, High-Quality Development Conference, and the "dual carbon" system has been further improved; 65 low-carbon application scenarios have been launched, and development space has continued to expand.
As a core leading city in the transformation of new and old kinetic energy in Shandong, Yantai actively seizes the major opportunity of building a pilot zone for green, low-carbon and high-quality development in Shandong, takes the lead in opening the road of green and low-carbon transformation, and strives to build a national and provincial green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot demonstration zone by promoting the "three transformations" of energy, industry and city.
