Xianning is known as the "Hometown of Sweet Osmanthus in China". The city's osmanthus planting area is over 110,000 mu, with an annual output of more than 1,120 tons of fresh osmanthus. There are more than 2,200 ancient osmanthus trees over 100 years old, accounting for more than 90% of the total number of ancient osmanthus trees in the country.

This adoption activity recruited 93 prospective college students and 7 high school groups, and the adoption area was designated in the Guihuayuan Scenic Area of ​​Xian'an District. Each adopted ancient osmanthus tree was hung with a unique nameplate, which indicated the age, variety, crown width, protection level, and the name of the adopter, the university he was admitted to, and his personal vision and ideals.
