Starbucks is undergoing important senior-level personnel changes.

On the evening of August 13, Starbucks announced that Brian Niccol has been appointed chairman and CEO, and he will take up his new position on September 9, 2024. At the same time, Starbucks Chief Financial Officer Rachel Ruggeri will serve as interim CEO until the appointment takes effect; Starbucks Board Chairman Mellody Hobson will become the lead independent director.

Under his leadership, Chipotle's revenue nearly doubled, profits increased nearly 7 times, and stock prices rose nearly 800%, while increasing wages for retail team members, expanding benefits, and strengthening culture.
