In order to further improve the level of flood control and relief command and the response capability of flood prevention and rescue, ensure the safety of people's lives and property during the flood season, and minimize the losses caused by flood disasters, on August 12, Zhangwang Town organized more than 40 basic militiamen and new era civilization practice volunteers to carry out a "practical" flood prevention emergency drill.
The drill was based on the background of the water level in the Wusuolou Village section of the Shizi River in Zhangwang Town rising to the warning line after continuous heavy rain. Through kayaking teaching, dam inspections, and evacuation of key personnel, the drill focused on the organization and command of flood prevention and rescue operations and the handling of various dangerous situations.
During the drill, the basic militia wore flood-prevention life jackets and were divided into groups according to the division of labor of safety alert, organizing sandbags, moving sandbags, and building flood-prevention embankments. They coordinated closely and carried the sandbags to designated locations in a tense and orderly manner, raised and reinforced the flood-prevention embankments, and blocked the flow of water.
The entire exercise procedure was standardized, the command was strong, the response was quick, the coordination was tacit, and the handling was effective. It fully demonstrated the good spirit of Zhangwang Town's flood control and emergency rescue team to dare to fight tough battles and be good at fighting tough battles, enhanced the emergency response capabilities to sudden dangerous situations, and achieved the expected purpose of training the team and improving their level.
During the exercise, all the militia emergency response teams were organized in an orderly manner and responded quickly, truly demonstrating the role of grassroots militia organizations in obeying orders and following commands. This not only improved the militia's emergency response and practical rescue capabilities for sudden dangerous situations, but also truly demonstrated the assault role of all grassroots militia members in being able to come when called, fight when they come, and win when they fight. It further enhanced safety awareness, adhered to bottom-line thinking, grasped emergency rescue measures in depth, implemented them in a practical manner, built a solid safety line, and effectively protected the lives and property of the people of the town.
