The Binzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate charged that from the Spring Festival of 2004 to September 2023, the defendant Duan Yanxiu used the convenience of his positions as deputy director of the Production and Operation Management Department of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of the Natural Gas Branch of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, secretary of the Party Committee and representative, as well as the convenient conditions formed by his power and position to seek benefits for relevant units and individuals in crude oil allocation plan adjustments, project contracting, and business operations, and illegally accepted property given by the above-mentioned units and individuals directly or through others, totaling RMB 61.971715 million (of which RMB 25 million was attempted).

During the trial, the public prosecution agency presented relevant evidence, the defendant Duan Yanxiu and his defense counsel conducted cross-examination, and the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court. Duan Yanxiu made a final statement and expressed his guilt and remorse in court.

At the end of the trial, the court announced a recess and the verdict will be announced at a later date.

More than 20 people including NPC deputies, CPPCC members and people from all walks of life attended the trial.
