From the Dahongmen Bridge on the South Fourth Ring Road to the north, a 100-meter-long wall on the west side of the road, which was once covered with traces of holes, has now become a new "scenery" on the South Central Axis Road - "See Fengtai from the bottom of the lens". From Qianling Mountain in the west of Beijing to Beijing Garden Expo Park, from Lugou Bridge Wanping City to Zhongguancun Fengtai Park and Beijing Fengtai Station, from Lize Financial Business District to Fangzhuang Culture and Art Center from urban renewal... 29 landmark buildings in Fengtai District showcase the booming new Fengtai.
The "gorgeous transformation" of the South Central Axis not only continues the cultural context of the Central Axis, but also witnesses the development of Fengtai, and is gradually becoming a representative area that showcases the national image and Chinese cultural confidence. The reporter learned that relying on the "Students Go Home to Beautify Their Homes" activity, Fengtai District has created three huge original wall paintings in the South Central Axis area. In addition to the "one-shot" story of Fengtai "today", there are also the "Ten Scenes of Fengtai" about "yesterday" and the "Future Fengtai" of "tomorrow", which allow people to immerse themselves in the future changes of the South Central Axis as an ecological axis, cultural axis and development axis.
With the Earth and the Moon shining against a backdrop of each other, on the left is a rocket soaring into the sky, on the right are scientists studying lunar soil day and night, and in the middle is the main picture of Chang'e-6 landing on the far side of the moon...On the wall of the seven-lane Dongtiejiangying Street is the 2.0 version of "Cosmic Imagination" drawn by teacher Xu Ge of the Beijing No. 18 Middle School Experimental School and his students.
After graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Xu Ge returned to Fengtai to teach. Last year, when participating in the "Students Go Home to Beautify Their Hometowns" event, she and her students created a wall painting with the theme of "Cosmic Imagination", which brought to life the images of Chinese astronauts reaching for the sky. This year, they recreated the scene of Chang'e 6 achieving the first return of samples from the far side of the moon in human history, showing Fengtai's pride as the cradle of China's launch vehicles.
Technology is also helping students beautify their homes. In the Sanjiaodi Second Community of Donggaodi Street, the "spider webs" of wires and water pipes that affected the appearance of the dark red building have disappeared, replaced by a wall painting with lively little monkeys jumping happily among the vines, making people feel as if they are in a cool jungle. This painting was designed by students majoring in film and television media at Fengtai District Vocational Education Center School using AI technology. The wires and air-conditioning drain pipes were specially designed to be vines. "We hope to add a touch of freshness to the fast-paced city life, organically combine technology and art in life, and leave a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature."
In the style of Yuquanying Street and Lin Community, the wall has become a "record player". By scanning the QR code, you can also listen to the Fengtai District's city creation theme song "Blooming" at the same time; in Pu'anli Second Community of Dongtiejiangying Street, the dilapidated transformer box has been transformed into a "cat climbing frame", where cats are playing comfortably; in Nanding Road Community of Dahongmen Street, the drainage pipes of the building have become "street lights", and young people sit under them and read comfortably... Liu Yi, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Fengtai District Committee and director of the District Civilization Promotion Center, introduced that this year a total of 116 students from 63 domestic and foreign universities including Tsinghua University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the University of Exeter in the UK have signed up to participate in the "Students Go Home to Beautify Their Homes" activity. The 26 streets and towns in Fengtai District have joined hands with the schools in the jurisdiction, and together with the students who have returned home, have carried out creative wall painting, urban landscape shaping and other activities in the streets and alleys through the integration of art and design, "beautifying" the micro-space of the block, creating a distinctive "civilized check-in place", beautifying their own homes, and enhancing the city's aesthetics and cultural atmosphere.
