Today's steel industry is facing severe challenges and huge opportunities. Against this backdrop, Primetals Technologies has developed the Arvedi ESP endless strip production technology, which not only meets the challenges but also creates new opportunities for the steel industry and promotes its transformation and upgrading. Arvedi ESP technology not only achieves revolutionary optimization of the production process with its unique near-net-shape continuous casting technology, but also achieves remarkable achievements in environmental benefits and efficient production, injecting strong impetus into the sustainable development of global steel companies.
Arvedi ESP technology is a star product of Primetals Technologies. Since its launch, it has attracted widespread attention in the industry for its outstanding environmental performance. By eliminating the traditional hot rolling process, Arvedi ESP technology realizes continuous production from continuous casting to cold-rolled strip steel, greatly shortening the production process and reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. According to the report "Towards Zero Emission Steel" released by the European Union's Ministry of Economic, Scientific and Quality of Life Policy, the use of Arvedi ESP technology can reduce carbon emissions from steel production by about 20%, and research by ICF Consulting Services has pointed out that the carbon dioxide emission reduction capacity can reach up to 60%. This data not only highlights the huge potential of Arvedi ESP technology in the field of environmental protection, but also provides strong support for the green transformation of the steel industry.
In China, Primetals Technologies' Arvedi ESP technology has been widely used and has achieved remarkable results. Taking Henan Yaxin Steel Co., Ltd. as an example, the company has realized a green production process from scrap steel to cold-rolled strip substitutes by relying on two quantum electric furnaces and an Arvedi ESP line provided by Primetals Technologies. The implementation of this project not only achieved the goal of reducing consumption and emissions, but also reduced Henan Yaxin's operating costs and improved its market competitiveness. Henan Yaxin's successful transformation is not only due to Primetals Technologies' advanced solutions, but also inseparable from the close cooperation and joint efforts of the teams of both parties.

Similarly, Arvedi ESP technology has also been effectively applied at Rizhao Steel Co., Ltd. The fifth Arvedi ESP line provided by Primetals Technologies has demonstrated strong production capacity. This casting and rolling line produces 2.2 million tons of high-quality ultra-thin hot-rolled strip annually. The product types include plain carbon steel and HSLA (high-strength low-alloy) steel grades, with the thinnest being 0.6 mm and the widest being 1,300 mm. In order to increase production capacity, the ESP line underwent design changes during the project execution, increasing the number of continuous casting machine segments and lengthening the continuous casting machine. In addition, the new Mold Expert (crystallizer expert system) based on fiber optic temperature measurement ensures high-precision measurement and improves process control, so that the finished hot-rolled coils can meet the highest cold rolling standards without subsequent treatment. These innovative measures not only improve production efficiency, but also further reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The advantages of Arvedi ESP technology lie not only in its efficient production capacity and excellent product quality, but also in its environmental benefits. As the world's attention to environmental protection and sustainable development continues to increase, Primetals Technologies' Arvedi ESP technology will undoubtedly become an important driving force for the transformation and upgrading of the steel industry.
