On August 11, the "High-quality Development Research Tour" entered the National Carbon Measurement Center (Fujian) in Yanping District, Nanping, Fujian. A series of "green technologies" named "carbon" are expected to help solve the problem of the lack of independent standards in the field of carbon emissions.
"This is the world's first mesoscale carbon dioxide flux detection lidar, and it is also an important scientific research achievement after the National Carbon Center was established in Nanping. It has obtained the first major technical equipment certification in the energy field of Fujian Province." Zheng Mingyue, a provincial special commissioner of science and technology and deputy director of the Nanping Industrial Park Management Committee, told reporters that this equipment can be used for all-round greenhouse gas emission monitoring, spatial carbon flow precision analysis, intelligent meteorological detection and carbon footprint tracking and identification. The detection radius can reach 15 kilometers, which can solve the digital quantification problem of the carbon monitoring system of low-carbon and zero-carbon parks. All components used in the equipment are independently designed by the team and produced domestically, which can better support my country's international voice in carbon measurement.
We have built an "integrated air-space-ground" carbon monitoring system, launched the "Industrial Carbon Emissions Internet of Things Monitoring Platform", and completed the pilot of the "Forest Carbon Index Monitoring System Standard under Satellite Earth Observation". In filling the gaps in my country's carbon measurement, the National Carbon Center has made continuous breakthroughs and innovations.
Why are so many "national-level" dual-carbon innovations being implemented in Nanping, which does not have outstanding industrial resources? In response to the reporter's question, Zheng Mingyue said that as the location of Wuyi Mountain, a dual world heritage site and national park, with a forest coverage rate of 78.89% and a forest stock of 202 million cubic meters, Nanping is known as the "green treasury" and "Southern Forest Sea". Nanping is not only an active participant in the "dual-carbon" strategy, but also a beneficiary of the development of the dual-carbon industry with its beautiful mountains, waters and air.
With the support of the two "national" brands, the National Key R&D Program and the National Carbon Metrology Center (Fujian), many leading companies and high-end equipment industrialization projects related to the "dual carbon" industry have signed contracts to land in Nanping. Fujian Aerospace Carbon Smart Technology Co., Ltd., founded in May 2022, was jointly established by the Industrial Fund of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and state-owned capital. It is one of the leading companies that have settled in Nanping's "carbon" future.
"In 2022, Aerospace Carbon Company, as the main research unit of the project, successfully applied for and won the bid for the '14th Five-Year Plan' National Key R&D Program's 'Key Measurement Technology and Standard Research for Carbon Emission Monitoring Data Quality Control' project." Zheng Mingyue said, "This provides a cooperative foundation and technical support for the establishment of the Carbon Measurement Center in Nanping."
"We have completed the overall system architecture design of the special project of the National Key R&D Program, connected with the technical solution of building a domestic carbon dioxide satellite remote sensing high-precision inversion model design and inversion system platform suitable for the polluted atmosphere background, and planned and designed the construction module content and technical solution of the carbon emission monitoring data trusted platform, etc." Xiang Fenghua, general manager of Fujian Aerospace Carbon Smart Technology Co., Ltd., said that through the implementation of the project, the aggregation, access, analysis, processing, docking and sharing of various monitoring data, and operation services will be realized, which will better assist Nanping's green and high-quality development.
In June this year, the National Carbon Center also "joined hands" with Nanping Aluminum to jointly launch the 2024 Nanping Aluminum Aluminum Alloy Carbon Emission Monitoring and Measurement System Platform Construction Project. Based on the integrated air-space-ground carbon emission monitoring platform, carbon monitoring and carbon measurement accounting are implemented for greenhouse gas emissions from aluminum smelting and aluminum casting, providing a basis and scientific support for the low-carbon evaluation of high-end aluminum alloy products.
From macroscopic "carbon emissions" to precise "carbon measurement", Nanping is focusing on grasping the new historical development opportunities of green and low-carbon. "With the advent of the dual-carbon era, our air can be sold for money!" Zheng Mingyue introduced that this year, Nanping, based on its ecological resource endowment, actively promoted the implementation of the "carbon dioxide standard gas" industry. "Carbon dioxide standard gas is an important material used as calibration benchmark data in carbon measurement, atmospheric environment monitoring and other work." Ma Hao, head of the National Carbon Center's cooperative enterprise, added, "Nowadays, the high-purity clean air collected within the jurisdiction of Wuyishan National Park can be used as the core raw material for the production of carbon dioxide standard gas after simple drying, purification, pressurization and other processes, truly allowing a good ecology to sell for a good price."
