The reporter learned on August 13 that the Beijing Reading Season and Beijing Children's Reading Carnival will start on August 16, presenting a rich and colorful reading feast for Beijing's children.
This year's "Beijing Children's Reading Carnival" is hosted by the Publicity Department of Beijing Municipal Committee, undertaken by Beijing Distribution Group Xinhua Culture Company, and co-organized by Beijing Book Building and Wangfujing Bookstore. It will invite famous publishers and children's literature writers such as Nie Zhenning, Zhang Guolong, Yin Chuanhong, and Zhang Zhilu to discuss children's reading "big things" around the four directions of "children's reading ability", "reading and writing together", "exploring the world of science" and "planting literary seeds", help children and parents explore ways to stimulate children's interest in reading, and provide guidance for parent-child reading and scientific reading.
The "Beijing Children's Reading Carnival" will also create a variety of reading experience projects such as "All-Day Storytelling", "Children's Book Story Fun", "Reading Challenge", and "Give Your Child a Book of His Own", combining reading with games to create a unique carnival experience, attracting more children to join in the reading atmosphere, so that children of different ages can swim in the sea of books in a relaxed and happy manner, appreciate the charm of books, experience the joy of reading, and feel the power of innovation.
In addition, readers of all ages can leave their own reading experience and messages on the "Reading Check-in Wall" and find their favorites in the "Exhibition and Sale of Fine Children's Books". The Reading Carnival also encourages young readers to bring books they have read at home to the event site and participate in the "Little 'Old Books, New Knowledge'" second-hand book market event of "Let old books find new friends and gain new knowledge from old books", exchange books with other children, so that more high-quality children's books can flow, and at the same time, let children gain more knowledge in exchanging reading experiences.
The "Beijing Children's Reading Carnival" will be held for three days starting from August 16 at the Beijing Book Building. Throughout August, a number of all-day storytelling activities suitable for children will be held in the reading spaces of Wangfujing Bookstore and Beijing Book Building, including picture book sharing sessions, Chinese culture appreciation classes, and science sharing sessions.
