It has been revealed that two games based on the Halloween theme are currently in development.
According to IGN, the two games are being developed by developer Boss Team Games, whose most recent work is Evil Dead: The Game.
While details of one of the games are still being kept under wraps, it has been announced that another will be developed using the Unreal Engine 5, and will also feature John Carpenter, the director of the original 1978 film.
Carpenter said in a statement that he was "intimately involved" with the game's development and "as a huge gamer, I'm excited to bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and I hope to scare the shit out of you."
According to Boss Team, both games will allow players to "relive moments from the movies and play as classic characters from some of the most iconic and important horror films of all time."
The only officially released Halloween-themed game to date is the Atari 2600 adaptation released by Wizard Video in 1983. This game and Wizard's Atari 2600 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are both considered rare games.

Michael Myers, the main villain of the Halloween series, also appeared as a DLC character in the PvP multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight.
John Carpenter is currently working with Saber Interactive to develop Toxic Commando, a cooperative FPS game in which players must destroy the evil creature "Sludge God" that can turn people into zombies.
After Saber spun out from Embracer Group earlier this year, COO Tim Willits confirmed that Gas Squad is still in development.
