Since the popularity of short dramas last year, plots such as rebirth and revenge, domineering CEOs, and Mary Sue's golden fingers seem to have become a creative threshold that short dramas cannot avoid.

In fact, the creative ecology is quietly changing.

On August 12, the short drama "Jiangxia Journey·Golden Partner" started filming at Yuewan Ecological Tourism Area, Wulongquan Street, Jiangxia District, Wuhan City. When interviewed by Jimu News, the director of "Jiangxia Journey·Golden Partner" Hong Cheng mentioned that this drama, which has been listed as a key drama in the "Travel with Micro-Short Dramas" creative plan project of the Hubei Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, is "different" from the public's impression of short dramas.

Jimu News reporter learned that in January 2024, the State Administration of Radio and Television issued the "Notice on the Launch of the "Travel with Micro-Short Dramas" Creation Plan", proposing to create and broadcast 100 excellent micro-short dramas with the theme of "Travel with Micro-Short Dramas" in 2024, promote a number of physical filming locations to "go viral" with the popularity of micro-short dramas, and create a new trend of "checking in" with micro-short dramas across the country. Since then, short dramas including "Sanxingdui: Future Revelation", "There is a Taste Called Qingxi", and "Hello, Su Dongpo" have been released, allowing the "micro-short drama + cultural tourism" model to flourish.

"Jiangxiaxing·Golden Partner" was born out of this situation, but it also contains the creators' thoughts on the short drama genre.

It is understood that "Jiangxia Journey·Golden Partner" is performed by Li Muyang, Zhang Yufei, Hu Ying and Yu Jun. The entire process is filmed on location in Wulongquan Street, Jiangxia District. The song "Jiangxia Journey" will also serve as the theme song throughout the show.

Hong Cheng introduced that "Jiangxia Journey·Golden Partner" is based on the theme of rural revitalization, integrating the humanities, customs, food and beautiful scenery of Jiangxia Wulongquan Street, trying to help the vigorous development of the cultural industry of Jiangxia Wulongquan Street while showing the story. "Jiangxia Journey·Golden Partner" tells the story of a female college student Xia Xuewei who returns to the village to start a business, but encounters Sheng Zihao, a "rich second generation" who is arranged by his family to experience life here. The two collide with many oolong incidents and start a funny, interesting, bumpy and inspirational story of rural life.

"There are almost no comedies in the short drama category. I hope to create a youth idol light comedy, and the story design also has a lot of nonsensical styles." In an interview, Hong Cheng said that most short dramas on the market emphasize "straightforwardness", "reversal" and "excitement". "I hope to break the inherent thinking of short drama creation and focus on content and storytelling."

In May this year, Hong Cheng also filmed a short drama in Jiangxia. At that time, Wulongquan left a deep impression on him, so the filming of "Jiangxia Journey: Golden Partner" was also decided in Jiangxia. "In addition to the story, our drama also features the beautiful Liangzi Lake, and the people here are also very enthusiastic. I hope that the beautiful scenery and food of Jiangxia will be promoted through this short drama." Hong Cheng said.

It is reported that the whole drama of "Jiang Xia Xing·Golden Partner" is planned to have 60 episodes, each episode is 2 minutes long, and is scheduled to be launched on major online video platforms in October.
