From August 9 to 10, the 2024 Cybersecurity Technology Innovation and Talent Education Summit Forum was held in Changsha. The summit forum was jointly organized by the China Cyberspace Emerging Technology Security Innovation Forum (Xin'anmeng), the China Cyberspace Security Talent Education Forum (Cyber Education Alliance), the Cyberspace Security Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Degree Office, and the Fang Class of Guangzhou University. The conference set up a main forum, two seminars, and 7 sub-forums.
Wang Jianhua, president of the China Association for Promoting Industry-University-Research Cooperation, said that we should focus on national needs, take the initiative in development through scientific and technological innovation, enhance core competitiveness through talent training, and jointly seek cybersecurity development through cooperation and exchanges. As a resource-integrated high-level collaborative innovation service platform, the China Association for Promoting Industry-University-Research Cooperation will continue to uphold the concept of co-creation, co-construction, sharing and win-win, support the high-quality development of cyberspace security, and work with everyone to contribute wisdom and strength to the development of cyberspace security.
Wu Xianyun, second-level inspector of the Cyberspace Administration of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, said that this forum is a grand event in the field of network security and a good opportunity for Hunan's network security technology innovation and industry-education integration to build on the momentum and leverage development. He hopes that experts, entrepreneurs and heads of scientific research institutions will come to Hunan and Changsha to jointly discuss the path of Hunan's network security development and jointly plan the development plan of the network security industry.
Xia Henian, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Changsha Information Industry Park, said that the current cyberspace security situation remains severe and complex, and new technologies, new applications, and new business forms continue to emerge, bringing new challenges and opportunities to network security work. First, we look forward to vigorously cultivating network security talents, second, we look forward to continuous innovation in network security technology, and third, we look forward to building a good development ecology together. We also sincerely invite the guests to visit the Information Industry Park more often to strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
During the main forum's special guest report session, three experts and scholars, including Fang Binxing, chairman of the Internet Education Alliance and the New Security Alliance and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Kong Zhiyin, director of the PLA Key Laboratory of Information Assurance and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Professor Jia Yan of Pengcheng Laboratory, gave special presentations on the themes of "Fang Class Seminar Hall: An Innovative Teaching Model", "Some Understandings on the Cultivation of Network Security Talents", and "On the "1234567" of the Pengcheng Federal Cyber Target Range". The main themes involved the cultivation of cyberspace security talents and the development of emerging technologies, inspiring exploration and innovation in academia, education, and the business community.
Fang Binxing, chairman of the Xin'an League and the Internet Education League, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, mentioned that the Fang Class Seminar Hall is a graduate course, also known as "Innovation and Thinking", which is a course opened with the Fang Class Seminar Hall mechanism and is mainly for first-year master's students (including outstanding undergraduates and junior doctoral students). The Fang Class Seminar Hall started at Guangzhou University in 2018. More than 40 universities have participated in it, and dozens of academicians have participated in teaching. So far, the total number of participating students is more than 2,000, and the number of speeches is more than 6,000. The seminar hall has five important links: topic selection, preparation, report, summary, and verification. It has set up five roles: student reporter, tutor, student questioner, questioning teacher, and commenting teacher. The Fang Class Seminar Hall has significantly improved the teaching effect through online and offline linkage. At present, the Fang Class Experimental Class model has been set up with reference to the Fang Class Seminar Hall course innovation.
Kong Zhiyin, director of the PLA Information Assurance Key Laboratory and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that in the digital age, cybersecurity has become an important part of national security, economic security and social security. With the continuous application of emerging technologies, the means and methods of cyber attacks have become more diverse and complex. The role and importance of cybersecurity talents are beyond doubt. The training of cybersecurity talents needs to focus on integration, effectiveness and expanding horizons. Fang Ban has carried out a lot of innovative exploration and practice in these aspects, which is of great significance to promoting education and industrial development in the field of cybersecurity.
Jia Yan, a professor at Pengcheng Laboratory, defines the network range as a network system simulation platform based on the positioning and conception of the network range. It simulates a target network based on a set of software and hardware resources for collaborative use by five parties, serving three core applications such as network security talent training, network security combat equipment and network security research platform. It is a type of infrastructure that supports network security technical assurance. Pengcheng Network Range is established based on local resources, supports five users, and serves three core applications. The first phase of Pengcheng Network Range is a representative of the current domestically technologically advanced centralized ranges. It has formed a set of construction standards, two scientific issues, three major applications, four attack and defense forms, five core roles, six-step business processes, and a complete framework of seven-layer system architecture.
In the corporate report session, a guest from security vendor Topsec delivered a special report titled "AI empowers the creation of new quality productivity in cybersecurity and the cultivation of new quality talents to lay a solid foundation for development", further explaining that cybersecurity is the cornerstone and an important part of new quality productivity, and that new quality productivity has also brought more opportunities and impetus to cybersecurity.
A guest from security vendor Qi'anxin mentioned in a presentation titled "Innovation and Exploration of Network Security Talent Training Models under the New Situation" that with the development of new technologies, security fields such as IoT security, Internet of Vehicles security, artificial intelligence + security, and data security continue to be popular. Against the background of emerging network security technologies, there is still a long way to go in cultivating new security talents.
Two seminars were held during the conference, with exciting agendas. The "New Model Seminar of Fang Class Cybersecurity Talent Cultivation" hosted by Guangzhou University invited experts from universities and enterprises such as Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Green Alliance, Antiy, Renzixing, etc. to conduct in-depth exchanges on topics such as Fang Class innovative curriculum exploration, Fang Class seminar hall curriculum practice, Fang Class laboratory class construction practice, Fang Class and enterprise collaborative innovation, and held special discussions on the ideas and countermeasures of artificial intelligence technology empowering cybersecurity talent training, exploring the characteristic model of cybersecurity talent training, and building an innovative system for cybersecurity talent training.
The "Special Seminar on the Development and Construction of Cyberspace Security Discipline" was hosted by the Cyberspace Security Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Office. Scholars from Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Hunan University, Northeastern University, Harbin Engineering University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology and other universities brought us thematic reports on the construction of engineering master and doctoral graduate courses, classified training of cyberspace security graduate students, training of practical cybersecurity talents, security of critical computing infrastructure, and the construction of cybersecurity disciplines in industry and regional colleges. They focused on the connotation of discipline construction and promoted the construction of the cyberspace security discipline.
The conference set up the "Network Security Talent Training and Certification Sub-Forum", "Network Target Range and Crowd Testing Technology Sub-Forum", "Artificial Intelligence + Security Sub-Forum", "Industrial Internet Security Sub-Forum", "Cyberspace Security Active Defense Innovation Technology Sub-Forum", "Intelligent Connected Vehicle Security Sub-Forum", and "Cyberspace Security Standard System Research Sub-Forum".
