Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and other three departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for Further Strengthening the Construction of Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standard Measurement System (2024-2025)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which clarified the timetable and roadmap for the formulation and implementation of standards in the "dual carbon" field from 2024 to 2025, and made specific arrangements for the carbon peak and carbon neutrality standard measurement work in the two years after the "14th Five-Year Plan" from the two aspects of standards and measurement. Experts believe that this will focus on supporting the implementation of China's "dual carbon" policy system and lay a solid standard foundation for achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Strong support for domestic "dual carbon" work

According to the relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission, in recent years, China has initially formed a standard system with rich levels and wide coverage, and the measurement foundation has been further consolidated, providing strong support for accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. However, the construction of China's "dual carbon" standard measurement system is still lagging behind, and there are gaps in some important "dual carbon" standards that are urgently needed, and standards in some fields are in urgent need of revision.
