"What is economics and how does it relate to our lives?" "What is college life like and why is it a wilderness rather than a track?" "What insights do college students have? Are their lives smooth sailing?"... In the "Walking with the Light" summer camp held recently by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, seniors from different majors and grades of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics had in-depth exchanges with the children on their respective studies and lives.
The summer camp aims to provide a platform for children of migrant workers in Shanghai to learn, communicate and grow. 89 primary school students and 4 teachers from Shanghai participated, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics sent a service team consisting of 16 college students and 5 teachers. The summer camp has rich and diverse contents, including fun games, campus visits, expert lectures, sharing by seniors and other links.
The project team specially invited Professor Huang Zhenxing from the School of Economics of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics to give a lecture on the theme of "Financial Quotient in Life" to the children. Professor Huang's lecture content is profound and easy to understand. Through interesting and meaningful exchanges and interactions such as "One-day Little Anchor" and "I will set the price and bring the goods", the children can feel the mystery of "Financial Quotient" in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and enhance their interest in knowledge.
Afterwards, the children, led by the project team members, visited the campus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, as well as the School History Museum, the Currency Museum, etc., to gain an in-depth understanding of the ups and downs and profound cultural heritage of this century-old institution.
This event was planned and carried out by the "Walking with Light" project team of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The project team is a public welfare organization composed of students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics that cares for and promotes the healthy growth of migrant children. In combination with the "Little Stream Culture" proposed by the government, the project team hopes to create an open, accepting, inclusive and friendly social atmosphere so that migrant children can better integrate into the city. At present, they are helping children thrive through "Qiguang Classroom", "Liuguang Mailbox" and "Starlight Promotion". At the same time, they also call on all sectors of society to pay attention to this group and advocate that social groups empower children in their own way.
