The theme of this painting competition is "Reduce Plastic and Collect Plastic" to respond to the "Global Fight Against Plastic" action plan of the United Nations World Earth Day in 2024, to arouse the attention of children around the world to plastic pollution, and to advocate the expression of environmental protection concepts through artistic creation to jointly protect our home planet. The competition received nearly 10,000 works from the United States, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Brazil, Malaysia, South Africa, Spain and other countries, as well as the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao. After the initial and re-evaluation of the judging committee, 5 special prizes, 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes, 9 excellent organization awards and 18 organization awards were finally selected.

At the award ceremony, Lv Shiming, member of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee and president of the China Association of Volunteers for the Disabled, stressed the irreplaceable role of environmental education in the growth of young people and children, and pointed out that this is the key to shaping future green citizens and building a beautiful home on Earth. He encouraged more young people and children to actively participate in environmental protection practices, to interpret their deep love for Mother Earth with practical actions, and to jointly draw a grand blueprint for the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.

Zhang Jingzhi, Secretary General of Xingyun Culture and Education Charity Foundation, said in her speech that this competition is not only a visual and artistic feast, but also a spiritual touch and a deep implantation of environmental protection concepts. She hopes that through the innocent brushes of the children, she can draw a series of thought-provoking environmental protection pictures, arouse the resonance of all sectors of society, and make the global problem of plastic pollution receive more attention and action.

Li Xinyi, the winner of the special prize, delivered a speech on behalf of the winners, calling on her peers to respond to environmental protection with actions and jointly protect the blue sky and green land. Wu Rongfeng, the principal of Juntou Private Middle School in Nantou County, Taiwan, who won the Organization Award, shared the school's experience and achievements in environmental education, and encouraged more educational institutions to join the ranks of environmental education, work together to cultivate more young people with environmental awareness, and contribute to the future of the earth.

In the keynote speech session, Irish environmental artist Nivea Rillian expounded on the beauty of the integration of art and environmental protection, encouraging people to fight pollution with creativity. Zheng Qinyan, director and secretary general of the Children's Art Committee of the China Artists Association, emphasized the importance of cultivating the next generation's environmental awareness from the perspective of education, and called on all sectors of society to work together to promote the governance of plastic pollution.
