"'Ba Shi He De' is the first Sichuanese phrase I learned, and 'comfortable' is also my biggest impression of Chengdu. In 28 days, I met a lot of different people. What I learned here, in addition to work, is the unique lifestyle of Chengdu. I learned to live a comfortable life and accept my ordinariness." On August 9, Wang Yusen, a third-year student from the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, expressed his deep love for Chengdu. On the same day, the graduation ceremony of the "Chengdu-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Efforts"-2024 "Star Chengdu·Future Star" Hong Kong University Students' Summer Internship Program in the Mainland was held at the Large Aircraft Demonstration Industrial Park in Shuangliu District, Chengdu. With the internship certificates handed over to the students, this internship activity also came to a successful conclusion.

Graduation Ceremony

This event was co-organized by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government and the Hong Kong Future Star Alumni Association. Since its launch on July 15, 30 students from 16 universities including City University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Hong Kong have been exposed to industries such as finance, media, science and technology, and the Internet during their four-week internship. They not only absorbed rich theoretical knowledge in the classroom, but also put what they learned into practice in Chengdu, this vibrant land, and experienced growth and transformation.

During the internship, the students not only improved their professional skills, but also learned how to communicate and collaborate in the workplace, and how to stay calm and resilient under pressure. Deng Yan, a representative of the internship organization, introduced that for this internship plan, the company has specially designed an internship training program for artificial intelligence mode, classroom, artificial intelligence simulation experiment, international business, business negotiation, and practical operation, so that students can deepen their understanding of the industry and experience the transition from theory to practice. "During the internship, the students showed a high degree of enthusiasm for learning and curiosity, and strived to do their best in every task efficiently and with all their efforts. I believe that this valuable experience will become an unforgettable memory in our life journey." Deng Yan said.

In addition to the internship, the 30 students from Hong Kong also visited Chengdu Chenxian Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., JMGO Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Wofei Changkong Technology Development Co., Ltd. and other representative and industry-leading companies in Chengdu, igniting their passion for exploring modern science and technology from tiny lights to technological brilliance. At the same time, the internship group also visited the Chengdu Core Valley Exhibition Center, Home Valley Talent Apartment, and Sichuan Large Aircraft Science Museum, witnessing the vigorous vitality of Chengdu as a highland of scientific and technological innovation, and more deeply felt the city's thirst for and respect for talents.

It is reported that since 2016, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Chengdu Municipal Government and the Hong Kong Future Stars Alumni Association have jointly organized five youth exchange activities in Chengdu, organizing nearly 300 Hong Kong college and high school students to visit Chengdu. This year, the two sides cooperated for the first time to organize a summer internship program for Hong Kong college students in the Mainland, giving Hong Kong students not only the opportunity to understand Chengdu's historical and cultural heritage and modern economic and social development, but also the opportunity to deeply experience the operation and development of mainland enterprises, creating more possibilities for their future life and career.
