01. TV background wall cabinet

Most families’ TV background walls are either used for decoration or for playing cards, and they don’t want to do anything else.

When I was renovating my house, I just wanted to save as much as possible.The TV background wall is just a large white wall, and then a large-size TV is added, which is both high-end and simple.

But my husband is more practical.He said that with the money he spent on buying a big TV, he could build a row of cabinets.

Compared to TV, cabinets are definitely more practical.

I really couldn't persuade him, so I accepted the design of building a cabinet on the front background wall of the TV. As a result, it is really nice to live in this place now.

My living room is 4.2m long and 4m wide, which is not too big to be honest.However, it is possible to build a whole wall of cabinets, but I am worried that the space will be compressed, making the house smaller and feeling depressing.

But after finishing it, I don't have to worry about it at all.

Below I will share with you the detailed size and design of my TV background wall:

Make a TV background wall cabinet.Don't make the cabinet too thin. If it is less than 20 cm, you can hardly put anything in it and it will just be a decoration.

So I made it about 35cm thick, which I feel is more practical.

The middle is hollowed out to reserve space for a 75-inch TV. The TV is completely embedded in the cabinet, and the overall effect is good.

Now that I have moved in, I have stuffed all the sundries in my home into the cabinets on the TV background wall.The secret to my tidy and clean home is to hide everything that can be hidden. Hide it all!

If you don’t want to install a TV, you can make cabinets for everything, and then install a projection screen and a projector, which will also have a very good effect.

02. Sofa background wall cabinet

The second row of cabinets in my house is the background wall of the sofa.

The original plan was to make the sofa background wall into a wall panel, so there would be no need to worry about the latex paint being bumped or dirty.

But my husband said that the money spent on the wall panels would be better spent on a row of cabinets.Cabinets have the same functions as wainscoting, while cabinets also have the same functions as wainscoting, so it is more practical to make cabinets.

But I still want to remind you all,If you have a limited budget or don't want your home to be too depressing, there is actually no need to do this.

My home is mainly used for storing items. Since I have two children, there are a lot of items, so I need more storage space.

There are two options for sofa background wall cabinets:

The first type: make a full wall of bookcases + half a normal cabinet.

The general space can be used to store children's books or to create a study area. The other half of the area can be used directly as a storage area to store all the sundries in the home.

The second type: a full wall cabinet with one door to the top

This design will cost more, but it will provide much more storage space than the first one.

You can choose according to your actual needs. My family chose the second one. Now there is no clutter at all in the house. They are all put into the cabinets.

03. Balcony housekeeping cabinet

My husband did not miss the balcony area either.

So the area is relatively small.But it is still possible to build a vertical row of cabinets!

My husband built a vertical cabinet on the left balcony.It is specially used to store cleaning tools and can be considered a small housekeeping cabinet.

The balcony on the right is made into a laundry area. The washing machine and dryer are placed on the balcony. You can dry the clothes directly after washing. It is very convenient.
