As a key project at both the Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone levels, the project is located in Yinghai Town, Yizhuang New Town. It is the core node in the Economic and Technological Development Zone's aerospace block planning. Construction started in July this year, covering an area of nearly 100 acres, with a total construction area of approximately 145,000 square meters and a total investment of approximately 2.4 billion yuan.
As a characteristic industrial park for commercial aerospace, the project focuses on key links such as "gathering industries, establishing scenes, and creating ecology", with the purpose of serving "technological innovation, model innovation, and application innovation". It has laid out four functional areas: common technology platform, high-end manufacturing center, innovation and research and development center, and science and technology interactive exhibition hall. It will build a common technology test plant, two industrial standard plants, three headquarters research and development centers and enterprise incubation spaces, and create more than ten shared experimental platforms covering rocket research and development testing, production and manufacturing, etc., to provide commercial aerospace companies with all-round support and guarantee for new technology research and development and application scenario expansion.
According to the planning map, the science and technology interactive exhibition hall is located in the center of the project, and the common technology platform, high-end manufacturing center, and innovative research and development center will be built around the exhibition hall. "Among them, the science and technology interactive exhibition hall will adopt the design concept of spacecraft 'take-off' to create a 'dynamic in stillness' building with a construction area of 3,300 square meters. It will build an aerospace science popularization education base and set up an aerospace technology experience center to provide an immersive aerospace experience in the form of virtual reality." The person in charge of the project introduced.
At present, the Economic Development Zone has gathered more than 80 aerospace companies, covering launch vehicles, hypersonic vehicles, rocket engines, satellite manufacturing, satellite applications, model matching, ground equipment, technology applications and other fields. The number of commercial rocket whole rocket research and development companies accounts for more than 75% of the country. With this project as a fulcrum, Beijing Economic Development Zone is planning to build an aerospace district to consolidate the core industry carrying space of "headquarters research and development + production testing" for commercial aerospace, and attract a group of leading commercial aerospace companies. In the next step, the Economic Development Zone will give full play to the advantages of the gathering of leading commercial aerospace companies, strive to develop into a commercial aerospace innovation cluster with "thousands of companies linked, thousands of satellites in orbit, and hundreds of billions of revenue", and build a main position for the gathering and development of China's commercial aerospace and a new landmark for innovation in the world's aerospace industry.
