China Youth Daily Client News (China Youth Daily/China Youth Network reporter Xia Jin) On August 8, the US-China Aier Joint Diagnosis and Treatment Center for Chinese and Foreign Experts was officially established at the Beijing US-China Aier Cancer Hospital, and the expert database of the Sino-foreign Joint Diagnosis and Treatment Center was also announced.
"There is a certain difference in the five-year survival rate of certain types of cancer between China and the United States, so some cancer patients choose to go abroad for treatment after being diagnosed. The average medical expenses of American hospitals are about six times that of domestic medical care, and the total cost of diagnosing and treating difficult tumors in the United States exceeds 10 million yuan." Dr. Hu Lan, founder and CEO of Amcare Medical Group, shared the above data with reporters.
Hu Lan said that patients who go abroad for treatment not only have to face expensive treatment costs, but many patients also encounter many pain points during the treatment process: for some patients, the treatment plans obtained through international consultations are difficult to implement in domestic hospitals; some patients have unclear treatment plans before going abroad, which leads to long overseas medical treatment delays and staggering medical and living expenses; some patients do not know that many overseas treatment plans can also be implemented in China before going abroad, which increases the time and cost burden; some patients have solved key problems through overseas treatment, but lack systematic efficacy monitoring and follow-up after returning home, which affects the overall treatment effect and survival rate.

The expert database includes not only doctors from ten authoritative medical institutions in China, such as Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Peking University Cancer Hospital, but also many internationally renowned experts from 23 well-known overseas medical institutions, covering 16 key tumor-related disciplines, such as lung cancer, breast tumors, gastrointestinal tumors, urinary tumors, and blood tumors.
Hu Lan introduced that the advantage of the joint diagnosis and treatment center of Chinese and foreign experts is that through in-depth professional exchanges between Chinese and foreign experts, the accurate implementation of international consultation plans can be ensured; through leading technologies such as digital pathology, cloud imaging, and timeline holograms, seamless diagnosis and treatment planning of Chinese and foreign experts at home and abroad can be achieved, making diagnosis and treatment more efficient and timely, saving patients time and cost; benchmarking against international cutting-edge technology levels to meet the comprehensive needs of precision diagnosis and treatment; and ensuring continuous and effective tumor treatment through real-time management by multidisciplinary teams from China and foreign countries throughout the process.
