Yunxi County will combine the construction of the Yunxi section of the Long March National Cultural Park and strive to build the Red Army Primary School into a red education "base" in northwestern Hubei.

Peng Xiaoying, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Yunxi County Education Bureau, introduced that the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Yunxi Wangjiaping Red Army Primary School is a complete primary school. It is located next to the Yunxi County Hubei-Shaanxi Revolutionary Memorial Hall, a red cultural education base in Shiyan City. It is the first Red Army primary school in Shiyan City. The school was founded in the early years of the Republic of China. It was called "Baoxiao" at that time. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was called "Heilongmiao Primary School"; in 2010, it was changed to Chengguan Town Wangjiaping Primary School; in 2022, it was renamed "Yunxi County Chengguan Town Wangjiaping Red Army Primary School"; on March 20, 2023, it was approved by the National Red Army Primary School Construction Project Council as the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Yunxi Wangjiaping Red Army Primary School. The school currently has a campus area of ​​more than 7,900 square meters, 10 teaching classes, 436 students, and 16 full-time teachers.

In order to carry forward and inherit the Red Army spirit and the revolutionary traditions and revolutionary ideals of young people, and to build a moral education base school with county characteristics, in September 2023, Yunxi County, in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Red Army Primary School Construction Regulations", invested more than 20 million yuan to fully launch the construction project of the Yunxi Wangjiaping Primary School of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. A new teaching building of 2,600 square meters, a comprehensive building of 1,200 square meters, and the reconstruction of 3,380 square meters of old school buildings will be carried out, campus culture construction, as well as related supporting projects such as activity venues, walls, gates, campus greening, facilities and equipment.
