On August 8, the national finals of the 19th China Graduate Electronic Design Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Graduate Electronic Design Competition) kicked off at the Wuxi campus of Southeast University.
During the competition, Southeast University and the China Electronics Society joined hands with several high schools including Jiangsu Tianyi Middle School, Wuxi No. 1 Middle School, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School, and Wuxi Daqiao Experimental School to hold the "Electrical Research Tour, Smart Start - The 19th China Graduate Electronic Design Competition Wuxi Middle School Student Research Tour" event.
The event invited 111 Wuxi middle school students to watch the grand competition of the research and electronics competition, listen to academic lectures, experience university life, and complete an unforgettable research and study trip. Led by volunteers from Southeast University, the middle school students visited the Wuxi campus and deeply felt the atmosphere of university life. The tree-lined path by Fengqi Lake is lush with vegetation; the weeping willows outside the Qiusuo Building are picturesque. In addition, the volunteers also shared their experiences and gains in academic studies, innovation competitions, and club sports, and truly showed the rich and colorful campus culture to the middle school students from the perspective of their peers.
During the visit to the exhibition of the research and electronics competition, the middle school students felt the charm of the research and electronics competition up close, and learned about the principles and industrial applications behind the works from the explanations of the participating graduate students. In the lecture by Zheng Lixia, associate professor of the School of Integrated Circuits of Southeast University, the middle school students had a deep understanding of the chip industry and the achievements made by my country, and also understood the urgency and necessity of breaking through the current bottleneck technical problems. The "Electrical Research, Smart Start" research and study activities effectively strengthened the cooperation between schools and local governments, helped middle school students stimulate their innovative spirit, improve their practical ability, and promote the "university-middle school" talent training cooperation model.
The middle school students who participated in the study tour said that this activity not only broadened their horizons and allowed them to experience the charm and challenges of scientific research, but also strengthened their determination to devote themselves to scientific research in the future.
