On August 9, the 2024 China Aviation Science Popularization Conference and the 8th National Youth Drone Competition held a media briefing. The conference will start on August 14 and last until August 19. In addition to the main venue in Nan'an District, a branch venue will also be set up in Liangping District.

With the theme of "Pursuing Dreams in the New Era of Aerospace and Shining in the Mountain City towards the Future", the conference is co-organized by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics, the Office of the Military-Civilian Integration Development Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the People's Government of Nan'an District, Chongqing, the People's Government of Jiangjin District, Chongqing, the People's Government of Dazu District, Chongqing, the People's Government of Liangping District, Chongqing, and the People's Government of Wulong District. It is an aviation science feast that integrates drone skills competitions, scientific and technological academic exchanges, achievements and product expositions, industrial investment negotiations, low-altitude new media displays, aviation culture carnivals, and urban tourism consumption.

As the highlight of this conference, the 8th National Youth Drone Competition will be held at Chongqing Nanping International Convention and Exhibition Center and Coral Experimental Primary School in Nan'an District, Chongqing from August 15 to August 18. This is a special drone competition for primary and secondary school students across the country. Nearly 100,000 students from all over the country participated in the competition. After the district, city and provincial competitions, 17,000 students successfully advanced and qualified for the national competition.

During the conference, seven series of activities will be held, including the China Aviation Science Popularization Conference Forum Series, the 2024 China Aviation Science Popularization Exhibition and China (Chongqing) Low-altitude Economic Industry Expo, Children's Creation in the Sky-National Children's Creative Exhibition, the Second China (Chongqing) Aviation Business Travel Culture and Consumption Festival, and the Liangping branch venue.

It is worth mentioning that from August 13, the original team from the Paris Olympics will bring 4 drone fireworks shows to the citizens, which is also their first performance in China. The specific performance time is from August 13 to 15 at the A Square of Haitang Yanyu Park on Nanbin Road; from 8:30 to 9:00 on the evening of August 18 at Shuanggui Lake in Liangping City, thousands of drones will carry fireworks to bloom in the night sky, presenting a wonderful visual feast for the general public.
