On August 7, a symposium with representatives of outstanding students of the 2024 National College Entrance Examination in Nanyang City was held. Gao Liang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Education and Sports Bureau of Wolong District, Nanyang City, and Zhao Yuquan, an outstanding student admitted to Tsinghua University, made exchanges at the meeting.

The symposium was held at the Nanyang Conference Center. The meeting reported the city's 2024 college entrance examination results. Representatives of outstanding students, educators and county and district representatives made exchanges and speeches respectively. The leaders present at the meeting presented learning supplies to representatives of outstanding students.

"Youth meets hard work, and writes the most beautiful chapter of struggle; education meets prosperity, and paints the most beautiful picture of the times." In his speech, Gao Liang reported on the achievements of Wolong Education in 2024 and the "Wolong Pledge" to be grateful and forge ahead to shoulder the responsibility of education, deepen reforms to build the Wolong education brand, and accumulate strength to create miracles. In February 2024, Wolong District was rated as one of the first batch of scientific education experimental areas in the country, one of the 124 in the country and the only one in the city; four months later, Zhao Yuquan, a graduating student from the No. 1 Complete School in the city, was admitted to Tsinghua University with a score of 696, achieving a "zero breakthrough" in the admission of Tsinghua and Peking University in Wolong's 30 years since the establishment of the district. This is also another breakthrough after the number of people who passed the first-level online exams in Wolong exceeded the "1,000 mark" in 2023. The "57101" plan for high school education in Wolong was completed a full year ahead of schedule.

"I'm not a child prodigy. I just made the right choice at the most critical juncture in my life and met a good school and good teachers, which allowed me to successfully counterattack." Zhao Yuquan wrote an article titled "My 'Yiquan Time'" in which he fondly recalled his three years of high school, during which, with the company and encouragement of school leaders and teachers, he was able to fully display his pursuit of goals, learning abilities and methods, and he went from being an average student ranked behind 10,000 in the city and 356th in the school when he entered the school to finally realizing his dream of entering Tsinghua University. He expressed his gratitude to the Party, the government, and the teachers of his alma mater, and his determination to make persistent efforts, forge ahead, achieve success in his studies, serve the country and contribute to the construction and prosperity of his hometown.
